  1. Long-focus lens - Lens with a focal length longer than the diagonal of the film format.  For 35mm film, anything longer than about 50mm is therefore long-focus, although in practice the term is usually applied to lenses with at least twice the standard focal length. See Telephoto lens and Mirror lens.
